České Radiokomunikace provides full-coverage, regional as well as local broadcasting of TV and radio signals and operations of wide network of transmitters. Transmitters owned by the company have over the years become dominant landmarks of some regions. In addition to their transmitting function they are also sought out cultural monuments such as Ještěd or Praděd transmitters or even the Prague TV Tower. Television as well as radio stations broadcast their services 24/7 all year long and for that they use 370 České Radiokomunikace transmitters and more than 1300 coverage devices in order to offer services of the highest quality and standard.
České Radiokomunikace stands firmly and proudly as a driving force behind the digitalization of broadcasting within the Czech Republic. Digital television and radio broadcasting brings significant expansions in terms of number of stations being offered in a much higher quality of audio and video especially in difficult conditions as well as allowing for additional data services.
České Radiokomunikace a.s. successfully launched the public digital broadcasting of DVB-T technology. After trial period in Prague, Brno, Ostrava and Domažlice, the digital broadcasting has been moving to other regions according to the Technical Transition Plan (TPP - digitalisation code), which sets to finish the digitalisation of the whole Czech Republic by 2012.
České Radiokomunikace operetes analog broadcasting and 3 digital multiplexes (MUX). MUX 1 for Czech statutory TV and statutory Radio, MUX 2 with commercial TV stations and MUX 3 for company EDG.
